The Founder
Sylvie Schapira
MSc. Psychotherapy. Dip. Counselling & Supervision. MBACP Snr. Accred. UKRC.
Sylvie Schapira is an accredited psychotherapist of 20 years experience, a therapy supervisor and group facilitator. She believes passionately that young people must be involved in changing a culture of conflict to a culture of peaceful co-existence.
She has worked with young people, (including Jews and Palestinians in Britain) individual adults and couples in therapy, and as a facilitator training diverse groups in the skills and awareness of:
Conflict Prevention, Counselling Skills, Bereavement, Trauma, Stress Management, Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorders, Intercultural Issues, Jewish Identity, Personal Development and Holocaust Education.
She has lectured in numerous countries, including Britain, Israel, Austria and Germany, researched and written articles about intergenerational transmission of trauma. She has published a book on training for counsellors and psychotherapists.
This background and her concern for the entrenched hatred and fear between many Jews and Arabs has motivated her to set up a peace education programme for Israeli and Palestinian teenagers. To enable young people themselves to actively participate in breaking the cycle of conflict and trauma is her deepest wish.
War does not determine who is right,
only who is left.....
