She has over three years experience writing and editing for online communications. Sarah previously worked in Mexico with the British Council, and before joining Peace Direct was working for an international social justice charity as Communications and Projects Assistant. Sarah holds a BA in French and Spanish from Newcastle University and an MA in International Relations from the Central European University.

Tomorrow's Peacebuilders: Environmental action takes centre stage in Burkina Faso

Winner of our 2016 Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders Award for the Environmental Peacebuilding category, Association Burkinabè d’Action Communautaire, or Burkinabe Association for Community Action (ABAC) is a local organisation based in Burkina Faso that works to build peace by improving social cohesion in deprived areas of the country and encouraging peace between different rural communities. ABAC’s peacebuilding activities include training, facilitating dialogue, producing information materials in local languages, and working with local governments. We caught up with ABAC to hear about their activities since winning the Peace Direct Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders Award for Environmental Peacebuilding in 2016, funded by the Alliance for Peacebuilding.
