Since 1999, the Pakistan International Human Rights Organization (PIHRO) has worked in the areas of human rights, environment, health services and disaster relief. PIHRO organised a peace rally in Islamabad to raise awareness on the importance of peacebuilding at the national level. Members of the organisation also participated in the Afghan-Pak Joint Peace Jirga.

The organisation mainly targets young people in Pakistan. PIHRO aims to 'target the youth and to motivate them to adapt to a positive and constructive approach and mobilise their creative energies to remain in Pakistan' so as to serve the country. The aim is also to enable young to play a role for the promotion of human rights, social justice, social peace and stability.
