The West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) is a West African NGO whose mission is to enable and facilitate the development of cooperation mechanisms between individuals and civil society organizations involved in the framework of peace-building in Africa.

The aim is to establish a structure through which these practitioners and institutions can regularly exchange experiences and information on the problems of peacebuilding and conflict transformation, social, religious and political reconciliation and encourage social and cultural values of West Africa as a resource for peacebuilding.

WANEP-Mali has four active programs to promote the culture of peace and non-violence in Mali:

  • Peace Education Program
  • The Women in Peacebuilding Network (WIPNET)
  • The National Early Warning System
  • The Human Security Promotion Program
