AFYIDEF is based in Nigeria, and it's programmes focus on the socio-economic development of young people and the promotion of peace and co-existence.
The African Youths International Development Foundation (AFYIDEF) works to improve the socio-economic development of young people in Africa through collaborative efforts with experts, international bodies and all levels of governments. AFYIDEF is based in Nigeria, and focuses its programmes on young people and the promotion of peace and co-existence.
AFYIDEF works on a range of issues, from natural resources and conflict and climate change to peace education, development and peacebuilding. Through its work, the organisation gives opportunities to share the best available practices, networking and learning. The Foundation also seeks to support the work of the UN and the World Programme of Action for Youth. AFYIDEF organises seminars, meetings, conferences and dialogues for young people in areas such as conflict prevention, peace education and training, the environment, sustainable development, election monitoring, awards, entrepreneurship, globalization, culture, and drug abuse.
Its current project, the “Peace Campus Consolidated Tour (PCCT)” works in partnership with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Youth and Student Matters. The aim of the project is to address conflict prevention as well as peace education in Nigeria.
More than 20,000 young people and students have benefited from AFYIDEF projects.
