The Community Relations Council aims to foster a peaceful and fair society, based on reconciliation and trust, in Northern Ireland. It was established to promote better community relations between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland and recognition of their cultural diversity.
In order to achieve their goal of a peaceful Northern Ireland, the Council works to:
- Provide support (finance, advice, information) for local groups and organisations;
- Develop opportunities for cross-community understanding;
- Increase public awareness of community relations work;
- Encourage constructive debate throughout Northern Ireland.
