Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) is an independent, non-partisan and a not-for-profit civil society organisation working on issues of peace and development in Pakistan. CPDI was established in 2003 to inform and influence public policies and civil society projects through research-based advocacy and capacity-building, with the goal of promoting peace and achieving sustainable development. The Centre's special areas of focus include promotion of peace and tolerance, media watch, rule of law, budget watch, legislative watch and development, and transparency and rights to information.

CPDI's projects on the promotion of peace and tolerance aim to develop research-based understanding of social conflicts and intolerance, and implements a wide range of activities to achieve the objectives of social harmony, tolerance, pluralism and improved understanding across cultures. The key areas of focus are crucial for the Pakistan society, such as religious and sectarian violence; inter-provincial conflicts; and improved understanding across cultures, sects and religions.
