DEDD work on peacebuilding includes education initiatives aimed at improving social cohesion and womens' and children's rights in CAR.
Last updated: December 2019

Dorcas Espérance Pour le Developpement Durable (DEDD, Dorcas Espérance for Sustainable Development) aims to help vulnerable people, especially women and children, to develop initiatives to become economically independent. It also works on peacebuilding, with education initiatives aimed at improving social cohesion and working on womens' and children's rights. It organises workshops and other projects in these areas for the people with whom it works.

DEDD is most active in refugee and IDP camps around the capital and has provided human rights training for more than 800 adults and activities for more than 300 children. DEDD aims in particular to reach out to victims of violence, to ensure that they know how and where to speak out for their rights. With children, the primary aim is to help them overcome the trauma and suffering they have experienced.
