Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-government development organization founded by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is ‘Divine and humanitarian service’. It functions since 1958 pursuing the aims of social and spiritual development of entire human community.
DAM provides high quality services towards unity, peace and development of social and spiritual life for the human community in general and for the disadvantaged and suffering humanity, in particular.
DAM believes that societal advancement can be possible if the societal structure is built upon humanity, spirituality, humility, equality and equity, caring the nature, honesty and morality.
DAM has consultative status both with UN ECOSOC and UNESCO. Currently DAM is running 55 projects on sectors such as: Education, Health, Economic Development, CC & DPR, TVET, WASH and Rights and Governance. Through these projects, DAM is reaching at least to 13,99,268 people in Bangladesh and expecting to reach even more.
DAM believes engaging youth in education can bring changes to the society and to make this belief happen, DAM has taken up a number of projects on various sub sectors of education. DAM vows to work against traffickers by implementing projects like Missing Child Alert (MCA), Ashsash, Action for Combating Trafficking in Persons (ACT) etc. DAM extends its working capacity towards water purification projects, economic development projects and agriculture. DAM believes that technology is the thurst force of a nation and thus DAM operates Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), one of the leading private engineering institutes of Bangladesh.
DAM is also unique in nature because of its identity as an organization delivering diverse need-based services through both field based and institutional interventions.
