Groupe d’Action, de Paix et de Formation pour la Transformation (Group of Action, Peace and Training for Transformation, GAPAFOT) was created on January 16th 1996 in Bangui. It aims to promote peace through awareness campaigns, conflict analysis, mediation and negotiation.

GAPAFOT participated to national dialogues for reconciliation in 2003, 2008 and 2015. It also offers training on non-violent communication to other organisations.

It developed and implemented a “cash for work” project for young people living in the 2nd and 5th district of Bangui, in Bégoua and Ndjoh, with an average of 2,400 youth involved and reached. This project aims to consolidate peace in areas affected by conflict in CAR.

In general, the organization has touched over 50,000 people with its actions towards peace.
