The Justice and Reconciliation Project (JRP) works for the promotion of locally sensitive and sustainable peace in the areas of northern Uganda most affected by war and violence.
In its activities JRP focuses on the active involvement of victim communities as agents in the transitional justice and peacebuilding process. JRP advocates for the implementation of a local justice mechanism in a manner which promotes peacebuilding.
It is currently researching and documenting the experiences of communities affected by the conflict. JRP also facilitates healing and reintegration of the war-affected population through cultural revival and the restoration of human dignity through music, art, drama, media, stakeholder dialogue and a resource centre.
