Introduction:
Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR) is a non-profit, non-partisan; non-governmental organization established in 1993. KIIR is working for a peaceful South Asia, with Special emphasis on Kashmir to reduce the human sufferings in this area by resolving the conflict.
It contributed in developing durable relationship with individuals, interest groups and institutions in South Asia and around the world working towards conflict resolution and human rights.
In its efforts for global peace and resolution of Kashmir conflict KIIR has engaged policy makers and policy implementers: members of parliament, political activists, lawyers, journalists, academics and social activists. KIIR is working to enhance the capacity of civil society actors in the areas of reconciliation, negotiation skills and conflict resolution. The objective of these initiatives is to prepare the grounds for reconciliation and peace.
Human Rights:
KIIR is playing a leading role in contributing towards the reduction of Human Rights violence in occupied Kashmir. KIIR is working on different joint projects. KIIR also publishes several publications dealing with peace issues and human rights violations.
Conflict Resolution:
KIIR is greatly concerned about the non-involvement of Kashmiris in the process of conflict resolution. It is continuously involved in supporting Kashmiri stakeholders in capacity building efforts.
During the last decade, KIIR has established partnership with international NGO’s, think tanks, governments, parliamentarians etc. KIIR is working on different joint projects.
