The Regional Network of Peace and Reintegration (RNPR) was established on March 20, 2011 by a group of young people to contribute to peacebuilding between the Georgian and Abkhaz societies, as well as to increase the level of integration of internally displaced persons, ethnic minority representatives and people with special needs in Georgia. For that purpose, the organisation promotes integration within the region, empowers young people and increases their involvement in civil society through informal education, various creative and cultural events, strives for equal rights and opportunities for vulnerable groups.

Main activities and achievements

RNPR has implemented 9 projects at local and international level over the course of the last 5 years, among them 6 projects were implemented in the framework of Georgian-Abkhaz dialogue and the rest were implemented in other regions of Georgia with a focus on vulnerable groups.

Since January 2013, the organisation has implemented two projects 'Youth for peace in South Caucasus' and 'Progress Groups for Development in Borderline Villages'. The organisation has partnered with Charity Foundation Lazarus of the Patriarchate of Georgia, Armenian NGO Syunik and the Union of Azerbaijani Women to help with the Youth for peace in South Caucasus project.

The goal of the project is to challenge ethnic stereotypes in South Caucasus through different activities of mobilization of youth, opinion leaders, media actors and CSOs (such as youth camps, seminar-discussions, exhibitions, etc.), to develop joint peace vision, offer the vision to the wider society and thus promote peace building processes in the region. The project will run up until 2017 and will gather Georgian, Abkhaz, Azerbaijani and Armenian participants.

In 2012-2014, RNPR together with Lazarus and Syunik, carried out a peace project called 'Camps for Peace in South Caucasus'. The donor of this project was HEKS-EPER. The aim of the project was to bring young people residing in the Caucasus region (Georgians, Abkhazians, Armenians and Azerbaijanis) together in the peace camp.
