Voices in the Vision for Africa (VIVA) is a youth organisation that focuses on fostering a sustainable, peaceful and conducive environment for the development of young men and women in Zimbabwe. VIVA does so through innovative initiatives hinged on oriented dialogues. Realising that dialogue is not an end but a facilitating process, VIVA employs practical and tangible steps to bring into fruition positive results.
VIVA is the secretariat of the Joint Youth Working Group, a unique platform that brings together youth wing representatives of different political parties and communities to enable dialogues and joint development initiatives.
VIVA's mission is to build peace by bringing diverse young men and women to strengthen and amplify their voice in Zimbabwe. In order to do so, it aims to avail a platform that will build their capacities and facilitate their meaningful participation and representation in the national decision making and policy formulation processes. An initial context analysis workshop enabled VIVA to interrogate the current context regarding youth issues in Zimbabwe with its members and partners, which helped clarify its niche, key entry points for action and its best positioning in order to contribute to the national peace agenda.
