The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. It was founded in 1868 and has been a keystone for positive change in the lives of hundreds of thousands of women and families. YWCA is the largest women's organisation in the world with associations in 122 countries and more than 300 American communities.
Program themes include but are not limited to: Economic Empowerment, Safety, Racial Justice, Recognition, Health and Wellness, Safety, Youth services and childcare. They've launched a revitalised brand that reaffirms the mission of working aggressively for women and people of colour. Their advocacy issues reflect the mission and values of their organisation. They promote solutions to improve the lives of women, girls and people of colour across the country.
