Although not a memberof the International Human Rights Federation, it co-signs declarations with it on human rights issues in Ivory Coast.

APDH's work on the victims of the post-electoral crisis led to it being awarded a special mention by the French human rights prize.

At national level, APDH is a member of many coalitions, including the Regroupement des acteurs Ivoiriens des droits de l’homme, the Coalition de la société civile pour la paix et le développement  démocratique, the Coalition Ivoirienne des défenseurs des droits de l’homme, the Réseau des organisations de la société civile pour le contrôle citoyen de l’action publique, and the Convention de la société civile).

Its activities include:

  • Declarations and advocacy based on its monitoring of human rights violations. It produced around 10 in 2015.
  • Research and reporting: in 2015, the APDH produced two reports, one on transitional justice and the other on human rights violations relating to mining and the right to a healthy environment. It is currently working on questions related to detention in Ivory Coast.
  • Legal action: in 2014, APDH took the Ivorian state to the African Court on Human and People's Rights to reform the law on the Ivorian electoral commission.

Projects: since its founding APDH has worked on diverse projects with international donors including the UN, the National Endowment for Democracy, the UN Democracy Fund, the Swiss Embassy in Abidjan, the French foreign ministry, and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa.

Currently it is working with the Open Society on a project aiming to increase public access to information and documents in the public interest.

The APDH works with a young, dynamic, multidisciplinary team determined to create lasting change and reduce vulnerability and inequality.
