Amuria District Development Agency (ADDA) works to complement government efforts in providing community based and focused development programmes in the post-conflict district of Amuria in Eastern Uganda. Formed in 2006, ADDA provides psycho-social support, livelihood assistance and promotes community level reconciliation. Other activities include civic education, OVC support, women’s empowerment, food security and post-conflict rehabilitation.

Main activities and achievements

ADDA played a key role in supporting peacebuilding and conflict resolution among the cross border community in Amuria and Karamoja sub-regions. With support from the Uganda Fund, ADDA has supported over 300 survivors of sexual and gender based violence with cash boxes and goats to 5 women groups in Asamuk Sub County in Amuria district, Eastern Uganda to support post-conflict livelihood recovery.
