Asian Academy for Peace, Research and Development was formed by a group of professionals to promote peace, nonviolence and contribute to inclusive and participatory development in Nepal.

Asian Academy achieves its goals through a variety of academic and practical community-based programmes, research and projects. The organisation promotes a culture of peace by conducting research, facilitating practical knowledge and enhancing the capacity of peacebuilders.

By empowering women, young people and marginalised groups, the organisation aims to promote peace, nonviolence, prosperity and harmony in society for sustained peace and nation building. It sees good governance as a vehicle for its activities.

Initiatives

Training and workshops

The organisation conducts training on peace, conflict and nonviolence for the young people, civil society organisations and political party leaders. It also provides profeessional grant writing training for civil society organisations, and workshops on peace with youth politicians.

Research and study

The Asian Academy conducts research on a range of issues relevent to peace in Nepal, including, peace programming for care, social accountability of community radio, and impact studies of different peace projects in Nepal.
