Centre de Développement Intégral de l’Enfant Rural (CEDIER) was established in 2002. It is active in the territories of Uvira, Fizi and Mwenga in the province of South Kivu. The organisation works in the field of the protection of civilians, peacebuilding and conflict transformation, and support for adolescents (young people and children). Its mission is to promote socio-economic development in the intervention zones in order to improve the living conditions of the rural population, with the goal of reducing reducing ignorance, mistrust, hatred and ethnic violence.
