The Centre for Dialogue and Action is a peacebuilding centre that aims at cultivating good citizens. It was founded in 2013 at Forman Christian College (FCCU) in Islamabad in response to the need of society and in a post 9/11 context.

The centre works with people from different communities and faiths. More than one hundred students at FCCU have been taught and awarded certificates.

Classes on Ilm, Adab and Insaanyiat were taught to promote respect for other ethnic, religious and gendered backgrounds. These courses included plays and community projects as well as reading cutting-edge literature on how to conduct peacebuilding.

Students from different and remote provinces of Pakistan began to change their mindsets. After the course, one boy who first thought that people of other faiths should be dealt with violence said he wanted to change the world through a pen, not through using violence. A girl stated that she felt empowered by the course and founded a women’s society after this course. Another boy from Quetta said the course changed him to the extent that he would love others instead of fearing them.

The Centre includes more than 2,000 participants and beneficiaries of its peacebuilding work. Some of the local and international partners of the Centre for Dialogue and Action are the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
