Centre for human rights education Pakistan (CHRE) was founded in 2010. It is a Lahore based organisation. It works for the protection of human rights, the promotion of peace and the tolerance and strengthening of democracy through educational trainings, awareness campaigns, advocacy, social mobilization and movements.

CHRE has encouraged and promoted inter-faith harmony through awareness and dialogue. In this regard, most recently Rwadari Caravan was taken from Punjab to Sind. Members from all over Pakistan took part. This brought many leaders and common people of the country together.

CHRE at home holds the membership of Mumkin Alliance- Punjab (an alliance of mainstream NGOs working on violence against women), Peace and Tolerance Alliance (an alliance of civil society organizations and progressive citizens), Aman Ittehad (Peace Alliance), Anti-Torture Alliance (ATA) and Joint Action Committee for Peoples Rights (JAC).

Globally, CHRE is a member of Asian Democracy Network (ADN), International Peace Youth Group (South Korea), Asian Human Rights Commission (Honk Kong) and partner of EIP (School as Instrument for Peace), an organisation with ECOSOC Consultative Status and has also acceded to the UN Human Rights Mechanisms through its active participation in the NGOs coalition which submitted the alternate report during the Universal Periodic Report at the Human Rights Council and UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders and religious freedom.

CHRE also serves as a focal organisation from Pakistan for Human Rights Educators Forum for South Asia which is working under the umbrella of Equitas- International Centre for Human Rights Education - Canada.

CHRE believes that for bringing peace in the society, its important to respect diversity and accept every individual the way one wants himself to be excepted. CHRE-PAK soon will be initiating a Rwadari Tehreek, which shall aim to mobilize and convince the citizens for their contribution for a peaceful Pakistan.
