FIND's vision is to see communities and individuals in Liberia achieve social justice, respect for one another, know their rights and civic duties and live in a social environment of dignity and peace.

Within 25 years, FIND hopes to promote human dignity by empowering people living in Liberia who are experiencing injustice, through advocacy, education, awareness raising and capacity building in collaboration with national and international partners. In addition, FIND monitors and documents human rights violations.

Major achievements

Since its establishment in 2002, FIND has been mobilising citizens to participate in decision-making processes at all levels in their communities, through dialogue with stakeholders on governance issues. It collaborates with partners to build a strong advocacy network through meetings, community forums and radio programmes.

FIND has successfully promoted a multi-sector approach to address human rights issues, using local traditions and customs as an alternative to the western mode of addressing human rights concerns. One of FIND's major projects focuses on monitoring gender based violence (GBV) and the provision of legal aid to victims.

FIND developed ideas through round table discussions to improve the implementation of the rule of law in Liberia, create awareness on the rule of law, functions and procedures of the security sector and also the judicial system.

Success story

FIND is the only National Civil Society Organisation (NCSO) in Liberia that has relocated its national headquarters from Monrovia to rural Liberia, Gbarnga, Bong County, as a means of strengthening its relationship with local people, many of whom are the key beneficiaries of the organisation's programmes.
