The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) is an umbrella body which represents young people in Borno, Nigeria. The organisation provides a platform for the advancement, mobilisation and coordination of youth development, and the promotion of peace, unity and tolerance.

The NYCN has organised the following projects:

  1. A sensitisation workshop for clubs and associations on conflict resolution among young people, in collaboration with the Global Peace Foundation in Abuja, in August 2009.
  2. A sensitisation workshop for young people on voter education, in collaboration with the Youth Federation for World Peace 2011.
  3. Participated in the North East constitution amendment March 2012.
  4. Led a delegation of young people from Borno State to National Youth Peace Concert March 2014.
  5. Represented young people at the UNICEF/SAMTEC committee in Borno State.
  6. Produced "Peace Flight", a Radio Nigeria programme on peacebuilding in Borno State.
  7. A youth sensitisation programme on peacebuilding and conflict resolution, in partnership with American Corner and the University of Maiduguri, April, 2013
  8. A youth awareness creation programme in collaboration with Borno State Environmental Protection Agency (BOSEPA) at the famous Maiduguri Monday Market February 2014.
  9. The NYCN has organize a Sensitization and awareness creation workshop for young people and community leaders with the theme as YOUTH AS AGENT OF VIOLENCE FREE ELECTION 2015 FEB 2105.
  10. NYCN organize a peace building workshop for young teachers in Maiduguri and Jere local govt of Borno State to serve as Peace Managers in their respective schools  2016.
  11. NYCN organize a 500 Mega Youth Sensitization Summit with the theme REHABILITATION and REBUILDING BORNO YOUTH AS AGENT OF PEACE, 2016
  12. NYCN in partnership with DANGOTE FOUNDATION VIA LIKEMINDS PROJECT  SUPPORTED  IDPS WITH FOOD SECURITY ITEMS,LIVELIHOOD AND PEACE TALKS 2016.
  13. NYCN in partnership with UN WFP SUPPORTED 30,000 IDPS IN JERE, MMC AND KONDUGA LGA with GFD,BSFP and cash base transfers from January 2017 to September 2018 and that is to ensure peaceful co existence among the affected areas. 
  14. NYCN in partnership with CARE INTERNATIONAL organize has been organizing a community engagement event to showcase and promote the issue of SRHR /GBV in ten different communities of MMC,JERE and KONDUGA from January 2017 to date.
  15. NYCN in partnership with NEEM FOUNDATION organize a PEACE DEAL & RALLY AT SHEHU'S PALACE  to promote PEACEFUL TALKS AND AVOID HATE SPEECH AUGUST 2018.
  16. NYCN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NETWORK OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATION IN BORNO STATE NECSOB SUPPORTED IDPS AT DEEP RISK COMMUNITIES OF DAMBOA, KONDUGA AND GWOZA WITH NUTRITION FOOD ITEMS. 
  17. NYCN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER PARTNERS HAS BEEN ORGANIZING INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION FROM 2016 TO DATE 
  18. NYCN IN PARTNERSHIP CARE AND CIVIL SOCIETY  ARE FOCUSING ITS ATTENTION ON WOMEN AND GIRLS IN OUR SUPPORT AND INTERVENTIONS. 
  19. NYCN IS ALSO AN ADVOCATE OF 16 DAYS ACTIVISM .
