Kode Ti Kwa (English: Value of Work) aims to promote economic and social development, with a focus on young people, in CAR. It goals are:

  • To see more young people assume leadership positions in society
  • To train young people with the technical skills needed for jobs
  • The organisation has been selected by the government to implement activities linked to those goals.

Main projects

Linked to the current conflict in CAR:

  1. In 2014, the organisation launched, with ACTED, an activity named “Cash for work”. The goal of the project is to mobilise young Christians and Muslims to work together to clean the city and receive money. The hope is to provide a useful service and help reduce their involvement in violence, demonstrating that it is possible to live and rebuild together.
  2. Non violence training, with SANGARIS, for anti-Balaka groups and communities from Begoua, including leaders, to help them find common ground for forgiveness and to stop violence.

Communities have welcomed the work and asked Kode Ti Ka to keep returning. This is an important achievement as it shows that communities are aware that it will be a long process to create lasting social cohesion and forgiveness, but have the motivation and the commitment to push for it.
