Strengthening Participatory Organisation (SPO), created in 1994, is a well-renowned, national organisation in Pakistan. The focus of the organisation's work is on the following core areas: democratic governance; social justice; and peace and social harmony.

To raise awareness on issues relating to peace in Pakistan, SPO publishes reports on conflicts and violence in the country, for example a report entitled “Karachi’s violence: duality and negotiation”. The organisation is currently conducting a survey on conflict sensitivity in Pakistan, looking at the situation in the Swat Valley in particular.

In June 2012, SPO organised an important event in Pakistan to talk about the recent book “Allah: Measuring the Intangible” of Uxi Mufti. The speakers at the event said that “the book is a commendable effort to understand the concept of God and can help establish a peaceful, tolerant society”.
