VallenPaz was established in 2000 and represents a wide social peace movement that works for the transformation of the rural south-western zones in the Valle del Cauca and Cauca regions. It implements projects that create social, economic, technical and environmental conditions to guarantee that the region’s agricultural activities are productive, sustainable, profitable and equitable. VallenPaz trusts that the reactivation of the Colombian countryside creates viable paths to exit the armed and social conflicts of the region.
VallenPaz has traditionally represented the excluded part of the population without sufficient access to productive means to secure a decent living and quality of life. Its projects provide training in agricultural techniques, community leadership formation and market commercialisation processes. It also offers psychosocial support and advice to victims of the conflict.
