Women Aid Vision (WAV) was formed in 2009 to strengthen and empower South Sudanese women by equipping them with tools to deal with the challenges around them. They work toward building a responsible, gender-balanced society to serve the needs of its people by enhancing accountability, justice, and peaceful means to combat corruption, illiteracy and extreme poverty.

WAV's peace activities bring together communities to debate their differences and resolve them through traditional peace mechanisms.

Some of WAV's most notable achievements include:

  • Supporting women to establish small businesses in Mvolo county.
  • Building a multi-purpose centre for textiles manufacturing.
WAV aims to extend its programme to Unity State and Upper Nile State in the future.
