Ye Ti Maboko Ti Mon Si (Count on Yourself) aims to empower women in CAR. With nine employees and around 100 volunteers, it brings women together and helps them create businesses and agricultural projects in order to generate and save money, launch new projects and provide other young women with support and mentoring.

During the current conflict in CAR, Ye Ti Maboko Ti Mon Si has worked on reintegrating women into society and engaging them on issues including social cohesion, supporting female victims of violence and women who lost children during the conflict. Since 2012 it has worked with more than 200 women and girls.

Achievements

  1. Working with the mayor of the fourth district of Bangui, Ti Maboko Ti Mon Si created a network of women that aims to raise awareness among of women's issues among the community, and how to help women become champions of peacebuilding in the district.
  2. Thanks to a fundraising effort made by women of the organisation, it is providing financial assistance to bereaved families.
  3. Working with its network in Lobaye and Boda, a map of 2,500 Muslim families was created. They were provided with food staples such as grain in order to help start small gardens in which to grow food for domestic and potentially commercial use.
