Call for content - women peacebuilders and WPS
As International Women's Day approaches, we want to learn more about the work of local women peacebuilders and the role of the Women, Peace and Security agenda in local peacebuilding efforts. Send a pitch for content on this topic by 31 January!
Women worldwide play monumental roles in addressing conflict - as mobilisers, peacebuilders, mediators, and human rights defenders.
But we know that they face some unique challenges and barriers, are often excluded from the peace table, and do not always get to share their stories.
As International Women's Day approaches, we want to commission content highlighting the work of women peacebuilders globally.
We're also interested in the impact of the Women, Peace and Security agenda on local peacebuilding.
If you are a local peacebuilder or a journalist with strong connections to local peacebuilding in your area, please send us a pitch for content exploring these ideas for the chance to have your work featured on Peace Insight.
Deadline for submissions: 23:59 GMT on 31 January 2023.
How and what can I pitch?
Please send us a 250-word pitch about your content - focus on the key message or argument of the article and highlight any organisations that you might interview or discuss. Remember that Peace Insight focuses on local peacebuilding efforts.
Content we're interested in receiving pitches for: written articles (800-1000 words), including profiles/interviews, plus videos, photo essays and more.
Once our team has selected the content to take forward, we'll agree a timeframe for receiving content. We will be aiming to publish this content in the weeks around International Women's Day, but are always interested in content on this topic. Therefore, please do pitch your idea even if you will not be able to produce the content to that timeline, as we may consider working with you later in the year.
Rates: the fee we pay for content will depend on its format and scope.
Send your pitch via this Google form. Content created by women is strongly encouraged.
