ACEG fosters the personal development of young people and rural women in Southern Tunisia.

Association Caravanes d’Espoir d’El Guattar (Caravans of Hope of El Guattar, ACEG) is a non-profit civil society organisation which supports social, cultural, educational development in Medenine, Tunisia. Since its creation in April 2011, ACEG has fostered the personal development of young people and rural women in order to facilitate their integration into society as active citizens.

These goals are being achieved primarily through voluntary actions for the benefit of the community and training and individual project support.

Its specific objectives are to:

  • Provide the local population, especially those in vulnerable socioeconomic conditions, the possibility to exercise their citizenship actively and dynamically.
  • Contribute to the establishment of equal opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and strengthening of local civil society organisation networks.

The association also contributes to the development of new initiatives by promoting productive contacts and exchanges of information and experience with various public and private partners. ACEG has carried out a number of projects funded by the World Bank, the UNDP, and others.
