Activities

Project Civil Voices works to promote community awareness about civil culture and social peace. It is a national campaign to promote community support in the process to keep the civil and social peace through nonviolence and extremism, and promote the resolution of conflict through dialogue and compromise. It aims to work with civil society and the government for the education of children and students in schools around the concept of coexistence, as well tackling issues of gender-based violence, religious discrimination and racism.

The project has included a drawing competition with children and students in Yemeni society. It aimed to provide messages of awareness to reject the culture of violence. The content involved 123 paintings.

The project also produced a drawing and colouring book entitled 'Voices of a Civilian'. 1000 copies were printed. It also included the implementation of an awareness-raising programme which involved youth and women drawing on the walls of schools and streets in the provinces of Sana'a, Taiz and Ibb. 1200 volunteers took part in order to promote peace and coexistence .

The project also encourages dialogue and acceptance of others through radio broadcasts, and delivers messages through social media.
