Afripeace Sustainable Development Foundation

The major goal of Afripeace is to establish sustainable peace clubs in schools where peer-mediation, conflict transformation, social justice and leadership skills are imparted to young people in Nigeria

Afripeace Foundation of Nigeria, otherwise known as Afripeace Foundation (a non-profit and non-political organization) was established in January 2014 as an independent, collaborative African partner and affiliate of AfriPeace Development Foundation, with headquarters in the USA to promote sustainable peace and development through conflict resolution, leadership development and peace education skills training in the African region.

The major goal of Afripeace is to actualize the Nigeria Peace Education Project and establish sustainable peace clubs in schools where peer-mediation, conflict transformation, social justice and leadership skills are imparted to young people. We seek to build African future leaders under the peace architecture for the development and progress of the region:

  • Peace Education and Conflict Resolution Training Program for Secondary School Students.
  • Annual Youth Peace Camp.

Through these dual programs, we have been able to support the efforts of students in conflict resolution and anti-violence activities, effect existing curricular, increase the country’s internal capacity for conflict resolution, initiate strategies for effective network building among conflict resolution groups in Nigeria and provide students and teachers with critical skills in Peace Education and peer mediation activities.
