The Centre for International Peace and Stability (CIPS) runs academic and research programmes, promoting Pakistan’s contribution to peacekeeping around the world.

The centre has been established within NUST Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (NIPCONS), at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad. In 2013 it launched the UN peacekeeping courses in Pakistan and so far has trained nearly 200 peacekeepers. In addition, a PhD program in Peace and Conflict Studies has been launched with over ten students.

The centre also works as an independent think-thank in the areas of peace and stability, development, conflict resolution, regional studies and peacekeeping research.
