Génération Femme du Troisième Millénaire (GFM3) was created on April 30, 2004 by a group of women who assisted vulnerable people in the context of the political-military crisis that the Ivory Coast was going through. After good results in the field, this group has been transformed into a non-governmental organization: the GFM3, in order to create greater impact through a formal and viable structure.

The GFM3 NGO set itself the goal of supporting women who became heads of families because of the war, to help them in the social care of their children. As the activities progressed, many victims of rape, several cases of violence and abuse were found on women and girls. The massive displacements of the populations and the absence of the State were the main causes. The NGO GFM3 then began to raise awareness about the rights of women.

Since 2008, with the gradual return of the State and access to basic social services, the NGO GFM3 has expanded its field of action by implementing activities to fight against insalubrity, waterborne diseases, obstetric fistula and hunger; but also activities of social cohesion, health promotion, sanitation, environmental health, education and the empowerment of women and child-mothers. It is in this dynamic that GFM3 has begun to encourage community development initiatives with particular emphasis on better participation of women at all levels.

To this end, numerous early warning and peace committees have been set up following the gender and development approach.   For a better sustainability and capitalization of the achievements of these committees, members have seen their capacities strengthened by the NGO.

The NGO GFM3 intervenes in Danané, Man, San Pedro, Abidjan, Tanda, Bondoukou, Bouaké and Korhogo, Biankouma, Odienné, Ferké, Boundiali, Bouna. And everywhere in Ivory Coast where the need will be felt. Some projects of the organization related to peacebuilding activities:
