Nepal Peacebuilding Initiative (NPI) is a non-profit making organisation devoted to evidence-based policy and action on security and development issues. Its goal is to enhance local input on security and development interventions and strengthen the capacity of societies to build durable peace. NPI works with government agencies, civil society organisations and community members to enhance their peacebuilding capability. NPI engages in research, analysis and dialogue to improve local and national policies and practices that can help build lasting peace.

NPI is based in Kathmandu and collaborates with local, national and international partners. The organisation currently works on the following themes:

  • Violence prevention and reduction
  • Inclusive political processes for peace
  • Good governance
  • Small arms and light weapons
  • Information and communication technologies and peacebuilding
  • Youth and peacebuilding
