Saphira Global Centre for Social Development carries out community development and peacebuilding across Plateau State, Nigeria.
Saphira Global Centre for Social Development is a non profit non-governmental organization working in the areas of humanitarian aid and human rights engagements and peacebuilding. We have been carrying out community development and peace building activities since 2018 across Plateau State and have partnered with NGOs, CBOs, Women Groups, Corporate organizations, Faith- based organizations and other like minds. The Campaign for human rights and social development and peace is therefore top on our agenda and priority list.
We have over the years worked with vulnerable groups such as IDPs, Widows and Orphans providing social welfare and free health care services. We work closely with victims of crisis and intervene by creating avenues for conflict mitigation and peace building.
Our peace building activities pan across community dialogue: where we bring conflicting parties together to talk extensively about issues that generate conflict or crisis among them and thereafter offer them alternative to peaceful coexistence which is respect for human diversity and tolerance of culture and religion. Using drama as a means of communicating certain trigger issues such as youth inclusion and gender equality especially in flash point communities.
We organize meetings for community leaders, stake holders, youths, and women groups where we bring trainers who are experts in peace building and conflict management to educate them on early warning signs and prevention of conflict.
We have so far partnered with organizations such as Equal Access International in advocating for Women Peace and Security, Hanan Initiative for Women and Youth in sensitization on community peace and health talk.
