Strategic Vision Institute (SVI) is an independent research organization based in Islamabad. It was established in January 2013. SVI intends to project strategic foresights on issues of national and international importance through dispassionate, impartial, and independent research, analyses, and studies.

The rationale of SVI originates from the imperative of cultivating adequate professional expertise to cope with the growingly complex strategic environment for policy formulation and decision-making process in all fields of national and international politics.

In terms of research focus, the institute carries out research and organizes events on a range of issues, including regional and international peace, security and stability. It publishes a peer reviewed journal called ‘Journal of Security and Strategic Analysis’. Since its inception, the SVI has focused on nuclear issues as clear from its regular conferences on the topic. For example, the SVI organized the following events in 2018:

  • Two day international conference: nuclear deterrence and strategic stability in South Asia;
  • International seminar on nuclear doctrine and strategy: implications for strategic stability in South Asia.
