SDF focuses its work on child protection and capacity building

Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) has accumulated experience in working in protection of children, youth, and their families. SDF has good relations and acceptance with local communities, authorities and expertise in the field. It has been present in Yemen since 2015, evolving from the wide-reaching Millennium Development Foundation, and has experience in implementing emergency protection and education responses for refugee and Yemeni children. 

SDF staff conduct child protection and child rights capacity building programmes for key community leaders, local authorities, teachers, parents, social workers and children in districts where it implements its projects. SDF has experience handling large grants from international donors, such as UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, SCI, Direct Aid Association and MTN telephone company. In 2015, SDF delivered child protection activities with UNICEF funding in four districts of Marib and supported 30 schools in three districts of Ibb. 

SDF has national and local level relations and has experience coordinating with both international NGOs, CSOs and donors. It expresses its interest to undertake project partnerships based on its experience in working with conflict affected population: children and youth with special needs and their families upholding to the Convention of the Right of the Child and pertinent international humanitarian conventions and belief that community and local authorities participation in child protection is essential. The foundation is aimed at achieving its projects and activities in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals.
