Youth Action Nepal (YOAC) works to ensure that human dignity is respected and maintained in the nation-building process through maintaining Nepal's democratic environment. YOAC ensures its goal by educating, engaging, and empowering diverse young people in the nation-building process by making them responsible to contribute at the local, national and international level.

YOAC prioritizes the essence of youth participation for sustainable and holistic development. Enhancing youth with their potential skill, knowledge and power is required for peaceful, democratic, disciplined and developed society thereby contributing a prosperous nation. No Youth, No Development: because Nation Building is in the hand of youth. Hence, ‘Youth Involvement for Nation Building’ is what YOAC alone stands for. YOAC is formally registered at District Administrative Office and it got affiliation to Social welfare Council to legalize this institution in Nepal. YOAC has the record of regular auditing and renewal of the legal status form the authentic government institution that timely goes on.

Major achievements

  • Facilitated and organized 25 youth networks to promote peace and social harmony in rural parts of Nepal.
  • Conducted an intercultural camp among diverse young people where dialogue was promoted as a peace building tool.
  • Established a Youth Entrepreneurship and Scholarship Fund to provide financial support of young people.
  • Running Migration Information Centre to provide information to potential migrant workers and their family members.
  • Gove and Private sector has been recognized to Youth Action Nepal as Peace organization.
  • Established the social harmony in the society through the documentary and advocacy program.

The organisation's programme and projects focuses on 25 youth networks around the country. These youth member networks receive capacity building opportunities and are encouraged initiate community projects themselves. The organization also works closely with youth and political leaders at different activity levels.

The organization activities are with youth work camps, peace schools, intercultural harmony sessions, intergenerational dialogue, and interaction between rural and urban youths. This also includes Youth Entrepreneurship Support Fund (YES Fund), exchange visits, trainings, conferences, and discussion series.

Through these practical approaches, the diverse young people, including student political leaders, have come together at the community and district level to help build peace. Moreover, youths of Bara, Palpa and Kailali districts have been engaged in local level planning processes. Some youth networks have also been successful in representing youths in the district level planning process and in helping to implement programs. In addition to these, youths of Palpa district have successfully lead the drinking water and irrigation project supported by District Development Committee.
