Adkoul (Emergence in Tamajek) emerged from an analysis of its founders on the need to respond to the problems of poverty and recurrent crises faced by the Nigerien population.
The organisation acts through targeted priority actions that relate to vital areas of life. Their objective is to enable vulnerable communities to make major and sustainable progress through sustainable access to basic social services. Their areas of focus are food security, WASH, education and the environment.
Peacebuilding is at the heart of Adkoul's interventions. Indeed, the northern zone of Tahoua, has experienced several armed conflicts in the past. Even today, the area is a victim of insecurity and terrorism linked to jihadist movements in northern Mali. To contribute to conflict prevention and peacebuilding, Adkoul, with the support of its partners, is developing projects for the benefit of tens of thousands of people. The organisation focuses particularly on young people who are most vulnerable to radicalisation and women due to their economic vulnerability and their important role in family education.
