Women Against Military Madness is a US-based nonviolent, feminist organization that works in solidarity with others to create a system of social equality, self-determination and justice through education, action and the empowerment of women. WAMM's purpose is to dismantle systems of militarism, economic exploitation and global oppression.

Launched in 1982, Women Against Military Madness is a nonviolent, feminist organization that works in solidarity with others to create a system of social equality, self-determination and justice through education, action and the empowerment of women. WAMM's purpose is to dismantle systems of militarism, economic exploitation and global oppression.
We hold three vigils every week, the End War Vigil, the Palestine Vigil and the Protest I.C.E. vigil. We publish a highly-informative and well-respected newsletter seven times a year. We have several committees focusing on End War, Book Club, Ground All Drones, Middle East, Second Monday Movies, St. Joan of Arc/WAMM Peacemakers, Solidarity Committee on the Americas and Tackling Torture at the Top. We work with coalitions including the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers and the Minnesota Peace Action Coalition and we are funded by Community Shares of Minnesota. We are a member of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits.
We espouse a feminist model that encourages self determination, cooperation and consensus rather than a model of decision making based on domination.
WAMM envisions an equitable world with respect for the rights and dignity of all. Diplomacy, international treaties, nonviolent peacekeeping and international observers are among the means for resolving conflict without weapons.
