Citizens for Syria Database lists the names of organisations working to end the conflict in Syria along with the areas they work in and other information. The final number of organisations it has recorded is 1012. However it presents the results of the 837 which they were able to verify. The rest of the organisations will undergo a verification process in order to publish the relevant information later. The team created a methodology to be applied throughout the first phase of the mapping.
The project used four sources: Citizens for Syria’s connections; third party information, partner databases; information provided by entities/individuals through an online form; a computer-aided evaluation system.
Aims
The goal of the databse is to provde to what and where in Syria. It aims to build a broad-based front of social actors to raise awareness against the use of violence and for the promotion of people’s long-term aspirations of freedom, dignity, civil participation and shared development.
