EducommunicAfrik is a non-profit media organisation run for and by young people in Burkina Faso to promote awareness of the role of the media.
EducommunicAfrik is a youth Organization specialized on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) which is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
EducommunicAfrik is focused in developing programmes & projects to build the capacities of young people in:
- critical thinking on media content and,
- using media & ICT as a vehicle for fostering their leadership, advocacy, self-expression, citizenship.
Through their involvement in programmes our Organization has designed, young people become engaged in seeking solutions to problems concerning not only them personally but also those facing their communities.
Our actions had an echo outside the borders of Burkina Faso so that in December 2016, EducommunicAfrik was contacted by EdVenture Partners (a USA NGO) to represent Burkina Faso at the world competition «Facebook Global Digital Challenge» of Spring 2017. In this context, we have set up a team of seven (07) young people to develop and conduct a campaign between March and June 2017 to counter violent extremism on social media and in a youth environment (Peer to Peer: Challenging Extremism Initiative ).
