ICES aims to deepen understandings of ethnicity and its related identity politics and conflict issues in Sri Lanka through research and dialogue
Last updated: نوفمبر 2019

The International Centre for Ethnic Studies (ICES) aims to explore and deepen the varied understandings of ethnicity and its related identity politics and conflict issues in Sri Lanka through research and dialogue. It facilitates the expression of marginal voices locally and internationally leading towards lasting and sustainable policy reform in Sri Lanka based on inclusive and just foundations.

ICES is an established and internationally recognised think tank on peace and conflict issues in Sri Lanka. It works as a key regional research centre in South Asia as well, collaborating with the United Nations at different levels on minority issues pertaining to Sri Lanka and South Asia. As a result, it has a track record of being a strong, established voice within civil society for minority issues, highlighting the tensions and areas that need to be addressed in order to prevent potential conflict.
