Last updated: نوفمبر 2019

The Organization was founded in 2005 by a group of activists who are interested in establishing the basic principles of human rights, democracy, citizenship and peace building and targeting (children, young people and women) particularly the most vulnerable of them over the long term in various regions of Iraq.

Thanks to wide connections with many international organisations, NIHR has acquired strong skills in human rights education and conflict management. NIHR has specialised in building the capacity of the population for better understanding human rights frameworks and acquiring skills to manage conflict.

The vision of the Organization:

Effective, independent, and free civil society, enjoys human rights, democracy, citizenship, and peace.

NIHR is targeting women and young people, enhancing their skills in human rights education, conflict management and peacebuilding and providing spaces to encourage dialogue among diverse sectors of the population. These activities are particularly important in the governorate of Kirkuk due to the historic multi-ethnic nature of the area.

Recently, NIHR has been diversifying its range of activities, offering social activities and professional training as an opportunity to gather participants from diverse backgrounds in order to establish relationships between them. They have a project proposal for building relationship between the IDPs and the host community.

The Organization's Mission:

An independent NGO, non-profit, developmental, works on the dissemination and strengthening of the culture of human rights and democracy, citizenship and peace-building for (children, young people and women) and target the most vulnerable of them over the long term in various regions of Iraq
