Northern Youth Alive Multipurpose Uganda (NYAMU) is a Ugandan youth-led community based organisation working to educate and empower young people, promote community peacebuilding and promote effective participation in the democratisation process and sustainable development of their communities in Uganda, with particular focus on the northern region.

Its mission is to empower young people with knowledge and skills of peacebuilding and applying principles of democracy, good governance and sustainability in personal, community and national development.

NYAMU seeks to achieve this through organising young people in self-aware groups with capacity to sensitise, advocate, lobby and demand, peacebuilding, change in policies and laws, and development at grassroots level and beyond.

NYAMU has successfully concluded a project on promoting responsible young leaders in peacebuilding. This increased a sense of self-awareness of individual duty and responsibility towards promoting accountable young leadership in peacebuilding and civil culture against violent behaviour among the young people in Northern Uganda.
