Jamie Vernaelde

Jamie Vernaelde joined the Africa division at Human Rights Watch in November 2010. Based in Washington, DC, she assists with research, writing, and advocacy on the Horn of Africa, Kenya, and Uganda. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Jamie worked on peacebuilding and urban refugee programs in Nairobi, Kenya, with the Georgetown University Conflict Resolution Program. Jamie holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution and Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University, and is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.
