Women Center for Democracy and Human rights in Cote d’Ivoire (CeFCI) was established in 2003 by a group of young women to respond to the difficult situation Ivorian women have been facing since the armed conflict.

The centre is managed by women and exists to support women in their daily fight for democracy, human rights and the struggle against poverty through reinforcing their abilities to find solutions to their problems. CeFCI envisions a peaceful world where women and men have the same opportunities.

CeFCI regularly organises capacity-building sessions led by prominent experts for women and women's organisations. CeFCI has developed expertise in the following fields:

  • Women's leadership
  • NGO management
  • Regional and international instruments for human rights and women's rights promotion;
  • Advocacy
  • Communication strategies
  • Accountancy
  • Democracy and Human Rights
  • Womens rights
  • Female Genital Mutilation

The organisation edits and publishes regularly a magazine that has great impact on the targeted beneficiaries with the support of its financial partners.
