Established in 2013, Réseau Ivoirien pour la Défense des Droits de l’Enfant et de la Femme (RIDDEF) is a non-partisan, secular and independent organisation that works on issues affecting social cohesion and the rights of women and children in Côte d'Ivoire.
The vision of the organisation is to help build a just society and protect vulnerable groups of women and children, as well as to equip women at grassroots level with the skills to protect their rights and progress their own development.
The objectives pursued by the organisation are to:
- Defend and advocate for the rights of children and women
- Encourage and support any action involving women in maintaining social cohesion
- Provide moral and legal assistance to any child or woman in difficulty without distinction of social class, political, ethnic or religious affiliation.
In 2015 RIDDEF participated in campaigns to build awareness around the need for peaceful elections elections in the country. Different projects were supported by international partners such as USAID and International Alert.
