Kilcranny House promotes peace and reconciliation through education and development.
Last updated: December 2009

Kilcranny House builds community relations and partnerships between previously opposed groups, in order to contribute to sustainable peace in Northern Ireland through development, education opportunities, reconciliation and recovery. It gives people a space to organise community events, classes and discussions on current issues so that they can smooth out divisions and explore a non-violent environment.

The organisation provides a wide range of education and training, including courses in areas such as human rights and capacity building for both existing and new organisations, as well as training schools and groups on violence prevention and environment, among others.

The projects of Kilcranny House have successfully empowered both individuals and organisations, encouraging them to work toward solving issues affecting their communities. It also promotes tolerance between migrant workers and new citizens within Irish communities, helping them work together and promoting a multi cultural society. Its educational programmes help children and young develop conflict resolution skills, as well as providing teaching on the environment and Ireland's shared cultural heritage.
